Giant Austrian gaming firm, Novomatic AG, has announced that it has begun accepting applications from budding game developers eager to enroll in the inaugural edition of its Corporate Coding Academy training program.

The Austrian firm is the parent of online and mobile software developer Greentube and explained via an official Monday press release that its new Corporate Coding Academy scheme is set to begin welcoming ‘coding heroes’ from November before sending them on a six-month path to becoming junior game developers.

“We need game developers and our plan is to use this program, unique in Austria, to ensure that our new recruits are perfectly trained,” read a statement from Klaus Niedl, Global Human Resources Director for Novomatic AG. “As one of the largest gaming technology companies in the world, we also produce games for the digital/interactive sector. It’s the fastest growing sector in the entire gaming industry.”

The Gumpoldskirchen-headquartered firm explained that its Corporate Coding Academy training program is to be overseen by ‘very experienced specialists from the software and game development industries’ and offer participants ‘technical input’ as well as insights into its own game development studios and processes.

Novomatic AG declared that training is to be divided into three distinct eight-week stages and be hosted at a trio of its studios in Austria. It stated that participants will be able to take advantage of flexible on-the-job training sessions covering the online and traditional verticals while moreover encompassing total game development alongside associated programming languages including SDL/OpenGL and C++.

“Continued technological development is an important part of our company strategy and we simply must have motivated and well-trained talents,” read the statement from Niedl. “This is why we founded the Corporate Coding Academy in order to discover the game developers of the future, to train them and, if possible, to keep them within the company.”

Novomatic AG detailed that interested candidates can apply for a spot in its first-ever Corporate Coding Academy until the end of the month via a special website at Corporate-Coding-Academy.com with applicants that pass a multi-step selection process not set to be charged for their tuition.
